Also known as Golden-Leafed Eastern Redbud.

Large heart shaped foliage emerges in coppery tones and becomes yellow as it matures. Can become greenish in shaded sites and as the leaf matures. Masses of showy, lavender-pink pea-type flowers are produced on bare stems in early to mid spring. Can produce fruit similar to pea pods under ideal conditions. Pods can be
persistent on the tree over winter.

Adaptable to a range of soil types including acidic and alkaline but prefers moist, well drained soils. Will not perform well in high salt situations
