The London Plane tree is an attractive, large growing deciduous tree with ornamental bark of mottled grey and fawn that peels off during winter. During autumn the large maple-like green leaves change to a golden brown. An ideal shade tree, perfect for street and park plantings.

Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil. If a grafted variety, take care to keep the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Often pruned to shape or pollarded.
