An ornamental and compact tree with masses of creamy-white flowers in spring. Mature leaves are an attractive bluish-green. Bird attracting when in flower. Ideal as a feature tree and for providing shade in the garden. Tolerates coastal conditions and also useful as a windbreak. It  has a hard and durable timber.

Suitable for poor, well drained, rocky soils. Requires full sun for best floral display. Little attention is required; mulching is beneficial especially when young.
