A sweet flavoured cherry produced in summer with large, dark red skinned fruit. Black Boy produces bountiful dark red fruit, with a delicious flavour. High chill, requires a cool climate to perform. A deciduous tree with an upright, spreading habit with dark green foliage. Eat fruit fresh, in jams and preserves. A popular home garden variety. Fruit ripens in mid December. First fruit when plant is 3 years old.

Prefers an open position with well drained, fertile soil. Plant bud union above soil level. Water regularly after planting until established. Mulch well. Prune to shape and thin out excessive fruit set.
