Phormium tenax is an evergreen plant native to New Zealand. A hardy plant grown for its strap-shaped leaves of bright green and tall flower spikes which attract nectar feeding birds. A tough plant ideal for wind protection at the back of beds and for coastal gardens. Flowers can be used in flower arrangements.

Thrives in well drained soil in a bright sunny spot. Ideal for coastal gardens, low maintenance gardens and containers.
