Attractive evergreen shrub with open crown and masses of fragrant spring blooms. Medium size shrub with glossy lush green foliage bearing clusters of furry brown buds, which open to reveal round creamy white flowers with bright yellow stamens. Blooms have a subtle fragrance.

Prefers a sunny to partly shaded position. Will tolerate a range of soil types including wet and dry types but prefers rich, moist well drained soil. Protect from strong winds. Frost tolerant.

For best results, mulch to conserve soil moisture and reduce weed competition. Water well during establishment. Prune lightly after flowering.
