Shrub or small tree with leathery green to bluishy-green leaves. Ball-like red flowers are strikingly contrasted with creamy-white styles and appear in autumn and winter. Useful for screening or windbreaks. The flowers attract nectar-feeding birds.

Grow in a sunny, open position in well drained soil. Tolerates moderate coastal exposure. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
