Low, spreading, evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves and highly perfumed, white flowers that appear throughout the warmer months. Ideal as a formal white garden, or in tubs and containers. Position plants near doors and windows to enjoy perfume.

Gardenias will thrive in a warm, moist but well drained position, provided there is adequate shelter from heat, wind and frost. Ideally they are suited to morning sun followed by dappled afternoon light. An acid loving plant preferring a rich and fertile well drained soil.

Feed through out the growing season and mulch well. Do not let potted specimens dry out. Responds well to light pruning – this can be done after flowering and will encourage luxurious, bushy growth.
