An attractive and popular evergreen with handsome, glossy green leaves bearing large, milky white, beautifully formed and heavily perfumed blooms during late spring to late summer. Ideal as an informal perfumed hedge, in tubs and containers, and as a superb garden specimen.

Gardenias will thrive in a warm, moist but well drained position, provided there is adequate shelter from heat, wind and frost. Ideally they are suited to morning sun followed by dappled afternoon light. An acid loving plant preferring a rich and fertile well drained soil.

Feed through out the growing season and mulch well. Do not let potted specimens dry out. Responds well to light pruning – this can be done after flowering and will encourage luxurious, bushy growth.
