A compact, mounded deciduous tree. During spring it is covered in masses of rosy-pink flowers. The purple heart shaped foliage matures to a bronze-red.

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Water in well and keep moist until the tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune to shape and to encourage bushiness.
