Clumping bamboo are non invasive, do not spread and have very shallow rootballs. They are safe to plant near fences, houses and pipes, provided you select the appropriate variety. Clumping bamboo are the fastest growing land plants and drought tolerant as well as low maintenance once established.

A very fast growing bamboo with a vigorous growth habit, this variety is great for privacy screening on acreage, windbreaks or erosion control. Due to the nature of the ‘bellying’, this bamboo is one of the best bamboos for bonsais. By pruning the tops of the culms and restricting its growth, the swollen internodes become more predominant.

Do not allow your bamboo to dry out for a minimum of 6 weeks after planting – this may require daily watering. Fertlise quarterly with slow release fertiliser. To maintain lush, green foliage and to minimize leaf drop, your will require deep watering through hot dry weather.
